Bottom line for me is that I just don’t rely on Elements for RAW support and only use it for other processing features. I suspect this is meant to encourage Creative Cloud subscriptions. It just seems like Adobe is always dragging its feet and causing confusion with Photoshop Elements, as if such users are second class.

My Adobe software updater runs every day at some point, but it never offers me any newer plugin than v9.5 for Elements. The same listing says the latest RAW plugin for Elements is v6.7 (obviously very old by now), but when I check my own plugin for Elements, it is v9.5, but that is from Dec. The listing I read on MacUpdate says the Camera RAW 9.7 requires Creative Cloud or Photoshop CC, so apparently not usable with Photoshop Elements. As usual though, regarding Adobe, Photoshop Elements, and RAW support, further digging brings more confusion than answers.

Maybe I’m missing something (it’s been known to happen), but from the information I read a few days ago when Camera RAW and DNG Converter 9.7 were released, they include support for products from Apple, Canon, Casio, GoPro, Hasselblad, Nikon, and Panasonic, but nothing new from Fuji.
